My Eyebrow Feather Tattoo Experience

My Eyebrow Feather Tattoo Experience

Eyebrow tattoo feathering? It’s a thing now. And I got it done. My eyebrows now look more thicker, better shaped and more defined. I receive compliments about my eyebrows on the regular. They didn’t always look this great though. They looked like caterpillars and I had a massive scar on my right eyebrow which made it look like a huge gap in the middle. Every day I would fill them in with an eyebrow pencil, and I would make sure they were filled in again at night. I am just going to be honest and say that it made me really self-conscious.

I know that you should embrace your natural look, but sometimes no matter how hard you try to do that, it still gets you down. There is a lot of features I still like about myself, but I came to the decision to make myself that little bit more confident so I would get my eyebrows fixed right up.

Here is my eyebrow feathering tattoo Q&A guide for anyone wondering about the treatment and what to expect.

What is eyebrow feather tattooing?

Also known as micro blading, eyebrow feathering is a form of semi permanent cosmetic tattooing. Fine strokes are used to replicate hair strokes creating fuller, darker and a more shaped look.

What caused my scar?

Over plucking back in the day when really thin eyebrows were in.

Why did my eyebrows look like caterpillars?

For a couple of years, I left my eyebrows alone to grow back, hoping that the hairs would all grow back. Unfortunately, they didn’t.

Can you use anything to help you grow your eyebrows naturally?

Yes, if you’re lucky and you don’t have any scars but want a more natural growth. Combine in a dropper castor oil, vitamin e, and olive oil. Rub into your eyebrows every night before bed. These oils will nourish the cells and promote growth. It may take 6 months to a year to see results.

How did you get your eyebrows looking good and your scar filled in?

I made a long awaited decision to get them eyebrow feather tattooed. Life changing!

Does it hurt?

When it comes to pain, I can be quite calm, but yes it does. It’s more uncomfortable than painful. But your therapist will put numbing cream on it beforehand, and then after the first run, an anesthetic. It is so worth it.

How long is the recovery time?

Afterward, you can’t wet them or put makeup over your eyebrows for one to two weeks until the color pigment fades and the scar heals.

Where did you get it done?

In Geelong at Knockout Brows And Beauty. Tess is very good at what she does, she is great with creating a good shape and she will transform your eyebrows! Highly recommend her. It’s so important to get it done by someone who knows what they are doing. There have been horror eyebrow stories that have happened to women all around the world.

What else can you do to make your eyebrows look great?

A regular tint and wax really do wonders. And when I’m dressing up and going out, I lightly go over them with a dark eyebrow pencil to compliment my makeup look. At the moment I’m using the Eye Of Horus duel brow perfect pencil in ‘Nile’.

Having great eyebrows for me has been such a positive outcome. After having adult acne for so many years, I developed really stubborn post acne scars on my face which are still slightly visible. And of course this makes me self-conscious at times, so it’s nice to have a distraction from them which makes my self-esteem increase significantly.
